History of Robot Combat for Schools
BattlebotsIQ, which is the robot combat division for high school and college, had its first national competition in the spring of 2002. They have a national competition annually.

The first year the competition was in Florida, the second year in California, the third year in Minnesota and 2004 in Florida. Minnesota has been a part of this since the beginning, and the interest has grown so that we now have  our own league locally.

The Midwest Robotic League was formed in early 2005 by manufacturers and educators in the area. The first state competition was held August 27, 2005, at the Minnesota State Fair. We plan to hold competitions throughout the year for the 15 lb. robots, and annually for the 120 lb. robots. Register your team today!
